Development Updates
The Peninsula 19 community is finally in its final phases of preparation for County approval and development initiation. Surveys have been completed and Engineering specs are on track to be ready for application with the county shortly. Contact has been made with representatives of BPSUD who manage the water, the sewer Utility management company (BUS), Entergy-, as well as firms to bid the road, sidewalk, and underground utility construction. We express our appreciation for the hard work of those with the Ellis survey company out of Texas City who have been a pleasure to work with, and with Scott Vanzant of Vanzant Engineering who has tirelessly responded to the endless barrage of emails and update requests.
Area architects have been contacted to initiate design on 3 homes for the community, including our entrance landmark, a mixed use “duplex” design with bottom story commercial loft space on the first level. The upper levels will be - 2 custom designed and classically styled coastal homes that will have ocean views from the front and bay/ intracoastal highway views from the side and rear of the residences. Other lots are for sale at pre-development pricing available to families, or home builders for classic thoughtful coastal design and progressive construction practices. Anticipating a 2 month approval process by the county, Peninsula 19 lots will be available for public purchase and closings by mid August 2009. Pre-approval contracts and offers are being taken now with Neil Spiller at Remax on the Water.
Crab Festival
On May 29-31 2009 Peninsula 19 sponsored the Crab Cookoff event at the combined Stingaree music festival and Crab festival. The food was great, the competition was tight, the weather was perfect, and the music was rocking. We here at Peninsula 19 want to add our Kudos to all the other sponsors, bands, and coordinated efforts by the Chamber of Commerce volunteers and staff. Everyone who attended had a fantastic time, and everyone who participated in pulling the event together deserves our thanks!!!
Various neighbors and groups have contacted us in support of the concept and direction we are taking the neighborhood. Many have given suggestions and ideas to enhance the sustainability of the community. Thanks for your ideas and insights! This community will be a canvas that is developed on the forward thinking vision of the residents.
Peninsula 19 recently became a business member of the Gilchrist Community Association. We look forward to working constructively with other members of the Gilchrist community to making the area around Rollover Pass a premier destination- of not just the Bolivar Peninsula, but the whole Texas Gulf Coast!
